Kenzie and Austin met on New Year’s Eve through a mutual friend Lisa- the maid of honor- and it was just about love at first site. They were made for one another and you can tell! It was an absolute blast photographing their wedding.
The venue for the Wedding Day was Austin’s Parent’s Farm which they had beautifully decorated for the special occasion. They brought in a tent service, caterer, and many decorations. One of my absolute favorite parts was the wall of pictures from their relationship, it was a really special touch.
We started out the day, as I do with most of the weddings I photograph, with rings and dress. All the fine details the couple have with them. These include the rings, dress, flowers, stationary, ties, shoes, jewelry, cuff-links, and whatever the couple would like photographs of. Austin and Kenzie had a few special items, and it was fun to watch them relax a bit into the getting ready photos.
As we moved into getting ready photos both Kenzie and Austin were amazing. The two just went with the flow of the day and the pictures turned out stunning! I could tell Austin was a bit nervous about pictures but with all the Groomsmen around him we had some fun and all the guys really loosened up.
These two were fantastic for our first look as well. With all my wedding photography experience I have many different ways of photographing their first look, but I really enjoy when the couple help me plan it, they can have it just the way they want it! Not to say I jump in and help whenever needed!
Moving right along we had plenty of time for our couple photos, wedding party photos, and family formals.
Side note!– I might have said this before but the reason I love photographing weddings so much is because it is all the different kinds of photography all in one day. That is the best!
We had finished family formals and I had a few extra minutes with Kenzie and this was my second favorite part of the day. We took a small break, and she grabbed some coffee. She had a “Mrs.” Mug and I loved it! We took that outside to the barn and had just a few minutes of photos before the ceremony. Kenzie was stunning! Some of my favorite photos from the day.
The ceremony was beautiful. You could tell Kenzie and Austin were right there in that moment together. The chairs were full and the officiant, Austin’s Aunt, was crying, it was absolutely beautiful.
Shortly after the ceremony, after Kenzie and Austin greeted all of their guests, I stole them away for a quick 15-20 minute sunset photo shoot. This was my all time favorite sunset shoot with a couple to date. I steal them away for this time for a few reasons:
Reason Number 1:
Sunset provides some of the most wonderful light and I love wedding photos in that golden light. This is the time of the day I get some of the best portraits and my couples have loved them!
Reason Number 2:
Kenzie and Austin just got MARRIED! They are super excited and all in love and what-not, so they are automatically more relaxed! They are so involved with what they are doing, they forget I am even there. Through a few tips of possing throughout the day, they are naturals.
Reason Number 3:
This is a very small break from all the happenings of the day. I wanted to give them around 5-10 minutes just to be with one another. No distractions, no pictures, no guests talking to them, just them, together, married. Now don’t get me wrong talking to guests and taking photos are important parts of the day, but this, even if just 5 minutes, gave Kenzie and Austin a part to remember. The day goes so fast and I want all my couples to have at least a moment to take it all in.
We quick headed back to the party where they were greeted with open arms and lots of smiles. Through the first dances, the cake, and the dance… The night was over before we knew it and they are a married couple.
Austin and Kenzie- what an amazing couple, an amazing wedding day, and some pretty awesome friends.
